INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel announced today that defenseman Andrew Perrott and forward Cam Hillis have been recalled by the Rockford IceHogs, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Perrott signed an AHL contract and attended training camp with the IceHogs prior to the start of the 2022-23 season. He is the only member of the Fuel to have played in all 51 games so far, where he has tallied four goals and 15 assists. Additionally, he has racked up 77 penalty minutes and posted a +/- of +11.
Prior to this season, the 5’10” defenseman played one season in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Windsor Spitfires where he had 26 points in 39 games.
This will be Perrott’s first official AHL call-up.
Hillis is currently on a NHL contract with the Chicago Blackhawks after being traded from the Montreal Canadiens earlier in the season. He was drafted by the Canadiens in the third round (#66 overall) of the 2018 NHL draft.
Hillis has skated in 45 of 51 games for the Fuel in the 2022-23 season and currently leads the team in points and assists with 50 and 36 respectively. The 5’9” forward from Ontario has 14 goals and leads the team in +/- with +18. He has a points per game average of 1.08 and also leads the team in power play assists with 11.
