CINCINNATI- The Fuel are back for the second of two preseason games this season against the Cincinnati Cyclones in Cincy. After falling 5-1 last night, Indy hopes to bounce back and claim a preseason win before the 2023-24 season kicks off next Friday.
LAST TIME OUT
Last night, the Fuel gave up two quick goals to the top Cincinnati line consisting of their captain Justin Vaive, Zack Andrusiak and Louie Caporusso who have all had significant playing time together on this Cyclones team. With another Cincy goal in the second, the Fuel were finally able to break the shutout with a goal by Fuel returner Andrew Bellant. Cincinnati tacked on two more before starting a small scuffle at the end of the game before both teams headed off the ice.
BACK AT IT
Quite a few notable names were left out of the lineup last night as head coach Duncan Dalmao is still looking to solidify his team before the season starts. Despite sixteen returning players to the Fuel this year, most of the roster in Cincinnati is newcomers looking to find their footing. This gives Cincinnati a bit of an edge with their veteran roster tonight. However, defensive standouts Trevor Zins and Luke McInnis along with the lone goal scorer from last night, Andrew Bellant will look to continue their stride tonight.
