INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel head to Toledo to wrap up their road weekend against the Walleye. This is the first meeting between these two division rivals this season and Toledo’s home opener.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was in the first round of the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs in April of this year. The Fuel could not claim a win in that series and were ultimately eliminated by Toledo. Both teams have brought back similar rosters with additions on defense that could impact the season series.
MARTIN MAYHEM
Last night in Kalamazoo was the first game of the season where Jon Martin went scoreless. In the previous match, he tied a franchise record for most consecutive games with a goal to start the season. He still leads the league in goals and will look to defeat the tough Toledo goaltending tonight with his scoring success.
SECOND PERIOD SUCCESS
Through the first five games, the Fuel have found the most success in the second period with the most shots and goals during every second frame as well as allowing fewer shots and earning more minutes of possession in the middle period. Additionally, the Fuel have yet to win a game where they were down after the second period.
