INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel head to Wheeling for another matchup against the Nailers. This will be their fourth meeting this month. Both teams are separated by one point in the standings and look to make a jump this weekend.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was Friday, December 8 where Wheeling claimed a 4-3 win in Indy after forcing overtime late in the game. The Fuel still collected a point and currently have the longest point streak in the league after winning over Fort Wayne the following day too.
WORKING OVERTIME
The last two times these teams met, the final score was 4-3 in overtime. The Fuel claimed the first of those two wins while Wheeling claimed the second. In between both of those games, the Fuel also went to a shootout with Fort Wayne where they won. In an effort to not give Wheeling a point, ideally the Fuel can win in regulation on Friday.
CLUTCH SPODS
Matus Spodniak is the first Fuel player to reach two game winning goals after scoring the second goal of the game against Fort Wayne last Saturday night, matching exactly what he did over Fort Wayne on October 21.
