INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will take on the Iowa Heartlanders on Friday night after claiming a 3-1 win over them on Wednesday. This is the second of a three-game set against Iowa this week.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was on Wednesday night when the Fuel visited Iowa for the first time this season and claimed a 3-1 victory after coming from behind. Matus Spodniak and Ryan Gagnier scored in the first and second periods respectively while Matt Cairns claimed a late empty net goal to secure the win.
GO GO GAGNIER
Ryan Gagnier has been a big help to the Fuel lineup during his rookie season. With a game winning goal last night, he has helped set the tone against Iowa during this road trip and now has 15 points through 29 games for Indy.
CENTRAL STANDINGS
Per usual, the Central division standings are so close that this weekend’s two-game matchup between the Fuel and the Heartlanders could see them both jumping multiple spots in the standings depending on how things go. The first place Toledo Walleye and seventh place Iowa Heartlanders are only separated by 18 points in the standings.
