FUEL READY FOR GAME 2 AGAINST THE GROWLERS

INDIANAPOLIS - The Fuel continue their first-ever road trip to Newfoundland in Game two of three against the Growlers on Saturday night.

LAST TIME OUT

The Fuel found themselves ahead 2-0 until the end of the second period when the Growlers found their first-ever goal against the Fuel. Newfoundland tied the game early in the third period making for a thrilling final 20 minutes in the first matchup between these two franchises.

It was a back-and-forth affair until Cam Hillis scored the go-ahead goal at 16:48 then Brett Bulmer put the nail in the coffin with an empty netter at 19:13. The Fuel would win 5-3 on Friday night.

WELCOME BACK CAP

Indy Fuel Captain Seamus Malone appeared in his first game since January 13 against the Wheeling Nailers and he didn’t let it go to waste. Malone scored the third goal of the game for the Fuel and his veteran presence was welcomed back by his teammates.

His eighth goal on the season gives him 20 total points on the year. Malone will look for his first game with back-to-back points since his six-game point streak at the end of November into early December.

AROUND THE DIVISION

The Toledo Walleye have been holding the lead in the division with 57 points, despite a 3-5-1-1 record in the last 10 games. The Komets and Nailers are tied with 48 points in second place while the Fuel trail right behind in fourth place with 46 points. Cincinnati creeps behind in 5th place with 44 points. Kalamazoo and Iowa bring up the rear in the Western Central Division with 42 and 40 points, respectively.
