INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will finish their road schedule in Fort Wayne on Friday night before hosting Kalamazoo for the final regular season game on Saturday. While the Central division playoff race is still tight, the Fuel have secured a spot in the playoffs and look to land in the second seed spot.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was Saturday, April 6 when the Fuel visited Fort Wayne and fell 2-1, despite scoring first. Anthony Petruzzelli had the lone goal against his former team, while Mitchell Weeks made 28 saves in goal.
BIG MACDOUGALL
Ross MacDougall leads the Fuel in points by a defenseman with 28 in 53 games this season. With two power play goals, he also leads defensemen in that category as well as power play assists with four on the season. He is the only defenseman to record more than 100 shots so far this season with 106. MacDougall has had a huge impact both defensively and offensively.
I-69 RIVALRY
This will be the twelfth meeting between these two Indiana teams this season. The Fuel are 6-3-2-0 against Fort Wayne this year, in an ongoing in-state rivalry. At home, Indy is 3-1-1-0 so they have proven to have home ice advantage. It is possible for these two teams to meet in the playoffs for the first time ever, if Fort Wayne secures the three seed spot.
