ABOUT THE HOCKEY:

INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will host the Wheeling Nailers for the second game in the first round of the Central division playoffs. After this, both teams will head to Wheeling for three games, if needed, on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT

These two teams met last night to kick off the playoffs where the Fuel defeated the Nailers, 5-2 with a dominant performance in the second period. Kyle Maksimovich, the Fuel’s goals leader in the regular season, scored two goals last night. Bryan Lemos, Andrew Bellant and Kale Howarth also scored to help Indy to the 5-2 victory.

DEFENSIVE DEPTH

All season long, the Fuel’s defense has generated offense well and that didn't change in the first game of the playoffs. Ross MacDougall, Santino Centorame and DJ King all claimed assists last night to help the Fuel win. During the regular season, MacDougall had 29 points in 55 games to lead the team. Centorame was right behind him with 23 points.
