GAME 68 - WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3 VS WHEELING - 6-5 OTW

The Fuel hosted the Wheeling Nailers in an important divisional matchup on Wednesday night. After a late goal to tie the game, Andrew Bellant became the savior in overtime to give the Fuel a 6-5 win.

GAME 69 - SATURDAY, APRIL 6 AT FORT WAYNE - 2-1 OTL

The Fuel went up to Fort Wayne for a Saturday night contest against the Komets. It was another overtime battle, this time with the Komets coming out on top 2-1.

GAME 70 - SUNDAY, APRIL 7 AT WHEELING - 5-3 L

The Fuel headed to Wheeling on Sunday to finish their weekend against the Nailers. While a win or overtime/shootout loss would clinch the Fuel a playoff berth, they clinched before the game even ended as Kalamazoo fell to Fort Wayne earlier in the day. Still, the Fuel tried for a win but could not mount a third period comeback and fell 5-3 to the Nailers.

OIL DROPS

Andrew Bellant had two goals on Wednesday's game against Wheeling, he scored the game-winning goal in overtime. This is Bellant's second two-goal game of the season.
Kyle Maksimovich also scored twice in Wednesday's contest. He is the leading scorer for the Fuel with 26 goals. He is tied for fifth among ECHL rookies in scoring with 58 points.
Mitchell Weeks still ranked 11th in the league among goaltenders with a save percentage of 0.897.

TEAM NOTES

The Fuel scored two power play goals on Wednesday. The Fuel's power play percentage of 20.7% is ranked ninth overall in the league.
Their penalty kill percentage of 78.4% is ranked fifteenth.
When scoring first, the Fuel are 30-6-4-1 this season.
With low penalty minutes this weekend, the Fuel dropped to fifth in the league with 1,033 total PIM this season. The team averages 14.76 minutes per game.
With Kalamazoo losing to Fort Wayne on Sunday, the Fuel officially clinched the 2024 ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs, however their position in the standings is still uncertain.
