INDIANAPOLIS - The Fuel announced today that assistant equipment manager Jake Flinchem has been hired by the Rockford IceHogs for the 2024-25 season. Flinchem will be the assistant equipment manager for the IceHogs, who have been the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Fuel since the team’s first season.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Jake has been with the Fuel since the inaugural season.
Jake has worked in hockey since 2008. He was part of two championships with the Indiana Ice serving as a stick boy with his father Darrin “Flinchy” Flinchem, who is the Fuel’s current equipment manager.
The Flinchem family has been a staple of Indianapolis hockey dating back to 1995, when Darrin served as the assistant equipment manager for the Indianapolis Ice of the International Hockey League (IHL).
Jake is the oldest of Flinchy’s three sons. His younger brother Luke will step in as assistant equipment manager for the Fuel while Zach is often spotted helping out too.
Good luck, Jake!
