INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel announced on Wednesday that they have signed defenseman Luc Salem to a standard player contract for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Salem, 25, joins the Fuel after two games with the Utah Grizzlies last season after graduating from St. Lawrence University in 2024. Through four years on the St. Lawrence Saints, Salem played in 128 games and scored 55 points.
During his junior year, the Los Angeles, California native led the team in scoring with 27 points in 36 games. He led the Saints in goals, points, and +/- with a +11 rating while also scoring four game winning goals for the team. Salem captained the team during his senior year.
Prior to his collegiate career, the 5’10 defenseman played for the Topeka Pilots of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) during the 2019-20 season, where he scored 36 points in 52 games and had a career high +/- of +16. He was named the NAHL Defenseman of the Month in December 2019.
Prior to joining the Pilots, Salem played for the Maryland Black Bears in 2018-19 and tallied two goals and 19 assists in 54 games while collecting 98 penalty minutes.
