INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will start their 2024-25 season on the road with three games in Georgia, beginning with the first ever matchup with the Savannah Ghost Pirates who joined the ECHL two seasons ago.
SCOUTING REPORT
The Ghost Pirates will be a new opponent for the Fuel this year. Led by former NHL player Jared Staal behind the bench and coming off of a sweep of the Jacksonville Icemen in the preseason, Savannah will use their strong home ice advantage in this opening match.
MAGIC MAKSI
Last season’s leading goalscorer for the Fuel has returned. Contracted with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL), Kyle Maksimovich was assigned to the Fuel during training camp. Last year, he led the Fuel with 26 goals. Additionally, he had 33 assists, a +/- of +13, and five power play goals. He led the team in multi-goal games with five, and was second on the team in multi-point games with 14. Maksimovich also led the Fuel in game winning goals with six.
