INDIANAPOLIS - The Fuel finish out their weekend series in Reading against the Royals.
LAST TIME OUT
Last night, the Royals came out on top 4-2 in the first game of the weekend series.
The Royals scored first and never trailed in this game. The Fuel once again outshot their opponent but could not find the back of the net.
Reading’s two power play goals to start the third period propelled them out of the Fuel’s reach as they took game 1 of the series.
PLAYING SMART
The Fuel will have to play with some discipline as things started getting chippy in the third period all the way through the final whistle.
A double-minor for roughing by Chris Cameron, followed by a tripping minor from Bryan Lemos gave the Royals a 5 on 3 advantage, netting them two goals in 35 seconds in the final frame.
Staying out of the penalty box will help whichever goaltender is between the pipes as Ben Gaudreau allowed one even-strength goal last night and Peyton Jones has yet to allow an even-strength goal in three games this season.
AROUND THE DIVISION
The Fuel sit in sixth place in the Central Division, beating out the winless Cincinnati Cyclones who sit in last place in the division. It’s early on but a lot of ground will need to be made up as the Fort Wayne Komets and Toledo Walleye have started the season hot, leading the division with six and five wins, respectively.
