FUEL ANNOUNCE ANOTHER RECORD-BREAKING SEASON

FISHERS- The Indy Fuel wrapped up their 2024-25 season last week after making the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the third year in a row. After their first season playing at the Fishers Event Center, the Fuel players, staff, and fans have a long list of accomplishments from this year to be proud of.

ON-ICE RECORDS

On November 2, 2024, against Kalamazoo, the Fuel had a game with no penalty minutes for the first time in franchise history. 

In the November 27, 2024 game against Utah, Cam Hausinger set a franchise record for most penalty minutes in a game with 32. He was also the lone player this season to get a hat trick.

Ryan Gagnier had the first goal at the Fishers Event Center on December 6, 2024. He also scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal the following weekend.

The team allowed the fewest shots in ECHL history with just seven in one game. This occurred in the 6-0 shutout against the Allen Americans on December 13, with Joe Vrbetic in net. 

Captain Chris Cameron hit 200 games spent with the Fuel on January 15. He also leads the franchise in penalty minutes with 456.

Alex Wideman broke the all-time franchise points record on Friday, January 17. He passed Spencer Watson at 176 in just 10 games. Wideman’s eight points on the season made him the leader at 183. 

Bryan Lemos broke the all-time assist record on April 13, set by Alex Wideman, to become the leader at 125. 

Kevin Lynch played his first pro hockey game in about four years this season. He exited retirement to join the Fuel and was red hot. He had seven goals and five assists in just 18 games.

On February 2, 2025, against Fort Wayne. The Fuel set a franchise record for most penalty minutes in one game with 73. Another record was set for most penalties against with 95. This combined for 168, the most penalty minutes in a Fuel game in franchise history.  

Darby Llewellyn hit 300 ECHL games at the last regular season game against Toledo. He also set a franchise record for most short-handed goals (5) and points (7). 

Ty Farmer was the 6th player in Indy Fuel history to play all 72 games. The last player was in the 2017-2018 season, Zach Miskovic. 

Nathan Burke set a franchise record for eight game-winning goals in a single season.

The Fuel ended the season with the fewest goals against in the regular season, with 199. 

The Fuel set a single-season franchise record for most shutouts with nine total. Ben Gaudreau (3), Cam Gray (1), Joe Vrbetic (2), Peyton Jones (2), Ryan Kenny (1) contributed. Vrbetic also had the most consecutive minutes with a shutout, with 169:22 in December.

Head Coach Duncan Dalmao had two records broken, one for the most wins at 125. He also has the most games head-coached at 233 games. This is the first time in franchise history that we have made the playoffs three consecutive seasons. 

FAN RECORDS

We thank the fans who helped set a new sellout record with 15 sellouts this season! The previous record was 12 sellouts, set last year. Every single Saturday this season was sold out. The first-ever Sunday sellout for the Indy Fuel happened this year on Bluey Day. 

Overall, the Fuel set a single-season home attendance record of 203,329 fans in the regular season. This breaks last year's record of 174,692.

On Teddy Bear Toss, 6,852 stuffed animals were collected for local children’s charities, including the WRTV Toy Drive, setting a new franchise record. Through ten seasons hosting a Teddy Bear Toss game, the Fuel have donated over 48,000 stuffed animals!

On February 15, 2025, Andrew Smith broadcasted his 250th game as the Fuel play-by-play announcer. In addition, this was the first full home season with a female broadcaster, as Eva Hallman joined Andrew in the booth full-time.
