INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will host the Kalamazoo Wings in their final home game of the regular season on Friday night. With Indy’s magic number being just one, the Fuel could clinch the fourth and final Central division playoff spot with a win or overtime appearance.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was on March 14 when the K-Wings visited the Fishers Event Center and took home a 6-2 win over the Fuel. With three goals in the first period from Kalamazoo, Indy just could not make a comeback quick enough. Shots were tied 33-33 but Hunter Vorva in net for Kalamazoo was the difference maker.
PLAYOFF PUSH
After both teams had many ups and downs this season, they are both still in the hunt for the final playoff spot. Going into this game, the Fuel lead the K-Wings by six points. Both teams have three games remaining, two of which are against each other. Indy will lean on Nathan Burke who leads the team in goals with 20 and set a new single season franchise record on Wednesday night with his eighth game winning goal of the season, as well as Colin Bilek and Bryan Lemos who both have 11 points against Kalamazoo this season.
