INDIANAPOLIS- The Indy Fuel announced on Tuesday that they have signed two defensemen Zach Vinnell and Trevor Zins ahead of their three-game weekend.
Vinnell, 24, who was signed to an SPC just finished his 2022-23 season at Bowling Green State University where he scored 20 points in 36 games.
Prior to that, the 6’1” defenseman played three seasons at Merrimack College where he scored 33 points in three seasons while getting a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
He also spent three seasons with the AJHL’s Camrose Kodiaks, appearing in 172 games. He logged 25 goals and 96 assists for 121 points for the Kodiaks, the most by a defenseman in franchise history.

Defenseman Trevor Zins is coming to the Fuel on an ATO, signing out of his fourth and final college season. Zins spent the last two seasons at the University of St. Thomas where he tallied 19 points across two seasons.
Prior to that, the 6’0” defenseman attended St. Cloud State University, though he did not register any games played.
During his junior hockey career, the St. Michael, Minnesota native played 180 games over four seasons in three different Juniors leagues. In 2018-19, Zins played in 58 games and chipped in 12 goals and 34 assists for the Trail Smoke Eaters in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).

Additionally, the Rockford IceHogs have recalled forwards Zach Jordan and Max Golod from the Fuel. Golod netted two goals in his first two games with the Fuel, including an overtime game-winning goal against Cincinnati.
