INDIANAPOLIS - The National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks announced Sunday that they have reassigned goaltender Collin Delia to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs from the ECHL's Indy Fuel.
Delia, 23, appeared in both of Indy's opening weekend games this weekend in Wichita, stopping 57 of 65 shots in a pair of 4-3 losses to the Thunder. The rookie netminder from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. made 25 saves Friday in his professional debut, before turning aside 32 shots in Saturday's overtime defeat. Delia spent the previous three seasons at Merrimack College, where he finished his NCAA career with a 21-24-10 record, alongside a 2.48 goals against average, a .912 save percentage and four shutouts.
