Fuel battle Walleye on Blackhawks Night in Indianapolis

The Story: After four straight games on the road, the Indy Fuel (19-20-2-1) return to Indiana Farmers Coliseum Saturday to take on the Toledo Walleye (28-12-2-2). It's Blackhawks Night in Indianapolis with special guests Daniel Carcillo and Jim Cornelison set to be in attandance.

Indy is looking to bounce back from a lopsided 7-3 loss at the hands of the Wheeling Nailers last night in West Virginia. A pair of power play tallies and a hat trick from Troy Josephs paced the Wheeling attack, snapping the Fuel's three game winning streak in the process. Darian Dziurzynski scored twice for Indy in the 2017-18 series finale with the Nailers.

With a 6-3 record in their last nine games and a 4-2 mark in their last six appearances at home, the Fuel enter Saturday trying to keep pace with the top half of the Central Division standings. The loss in Wheeling dropped Indy (41 points) to seven points behind the fifth-place Cincinnati Cyclones (48 points), though the fourth-seeded Kalamazoo Wings remain nine points in front after falling in Quad City Friday. The Fuel head back to Kalamazoo for another two-game set next weekend.

Toledo remains at the top of the Central table with 60 points, two points up on the Fort Wayne Komets. The Walleye have won three straight games, picking up points in nine of their last 11 outings (8-2-0-1). Last weekend the Detroit Red Wings affiliate swept a home-and-home series with the Brampton Beast, before downing Cincinnati by a 6-2 tally at Huntington Center.

Tenacious D-ziurzynski: Continuing to put up points for the Fuel since his arrival in the Circle City has been forward Darian Dziurzynski (12g, 11a). Dziurzynski tallied a pair of goals in Friday's loss in Wheeling, giving him a total of four goals and three assists over his last five games. The sixth-year pro has produced at better than a point per game pace following his trade to Indy on Dec. 19, putting up 18 points (11g, 7a) in 17 games.

Multi Point Inspection: Saturday is Indy's only home game until the club's school day game on February 20. The Fuel embark on a season-long seven-game road swing starting next Friday in Quad City ... Forward Johnny McInnis (12g, 9a) has registered points in eight of his last nine games (5g, 3a) ... Indy has surrendered a power play goal in four consecutive games, and in five of its last six outings ... Goaltender Adam Carlson stopped 20 of 25 shots through two periods Friday in his Fuel debut.

Inside the Matchup: Saturday is the fifth of nine meetings between the Fuel and Walleye in 2017-18. Toledo holds a 4-0 lead in the season series, though four of the final five games this year between the Central Division rivals will be taking place in Indianapolis. The two clubs are meeting for the first time in the Circle City since a 4-1 Walleye win on Nov. 14, 2017. Indy is looking to snap an eight-game skid to Toledo on home ice, dating back to the Fuel's 3-2 shootout win to open the 2015-16 season.

Scouting Report: Toledo's penalty kill ranks second in the ECHL at 87.9% ... Defenseman Ryan Obuchowski (3g, 17a) is on a four game point streak, scoring two goals and three assists over the same span ... Goaltender Pat Nagle has led his team to at least a point in eight of his last 10 starts (7-2-0-1).
