The Story: After suffering a tough loss in the first of two games at Wings Event Center, the Indy Fuel (20-22-2-1) look for a weekend split with the Kalamazoo Wings (26-17-2-2) in Sunday's matinee. The puck drops at 3 p.m. ET for the second meeting in less than 24 hours between the Central Divsion rivals, with coverage coming live on 1070TheFan.com/IndyFuel as well as ECHL.TV.
Kalamazoo stole two points in the series opener on Saturday, rallying with four unanswered goals in the third period to grab a 6-4 victory over the Fuel. Indy scored three times before the halfway point of the opening frame, but a three point night from Kalamazoo's Danny Moynihan (2g, 1a) helped turn the tide in favor of the home team.
The come-from-behind victory increased the Wings' cushion over the Fuel in the Central Division standings to 13 points, with only three meetings left between the two clubs. Indy enters Sunday with 43 points, eight behind the fifth-place Kansas City Mavericks.
Multi Point Inspection: Saturday was Indy's first regulation loss this season suffered after leading through two periods (12-1-0-1) ... Defenseman Robin Press (5g, 12a) extended a point streak to three games with an assist Saturday, giving him points in five of his last six games (3g, 4a) ... Darian Dziurzynski (13g, 13a) has 10 points (5g, 5a) over his last eight games ... The offensive line of Ryan Rupert, Matt Rupert and Josh Shalla have combined for four goals and five assists over the last two games.
Scouting Report: Danny Moynihan's (11g, 16) three points on Saturday stretched a personal point streak to seven games (3g, 9a) ... In three games since returning from injury, rookie defenseman Aaron Irving (9g, 23a) has four goals and two assists.
