CHICAGO - The National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks announced their 2018 Training Camp roster on Tuesday afternoon. Five former Indy Fuel players - forwards Radovan Bondra, Nathan Noel and Matheson Iacopelli, and goaltenders Collin Delia and Matt Tomkins - will be participating in this year's camp, which opens Friday morning at the MB Ice Arena.
Bondra, Noel, Iacopelli and Delia all enter the 2018-19 season under contract to the Blackhawks, while Tomkins signed a one-year extension with the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs in June. All five players skated spent time in Indianapolis during the 2017-18 season, with Noel and Iacopelli being named to Indy's Kelly Cup Playoff roster in April. Earlier this spring, Delia became the first former Fuel player to play for the Blackhawks in the history of the clubs' affiliation, making his NHL debut against the Winnipeg Jets on March 29.
The Blackhawks 2018 Training Camp consists of 57, including 30 forwards, 20 defensemen and seven goaltenders. Chicago's annual Training Camp Festival kicks off Saturday morning with a scrimmage at the United Center.
