INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Rockford IceHogs announced today that the total from the black jersey auction amounted to $13,320. All of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the ECHL and Professional Hockey Player Association (PHPA) Player Relief Fund.
The ECHL and the PHPA announced Wednesday, April 1, that they were collaborating to the develop a relief fund to assist ECHL players and their families suffering a financial hardship following the sudden and unexpected cancellation of the 2019-20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be distributed to players across the league.
So far the fund has raised over $237,030, fans still looking to contribute to the fund can click here to donate.
