This season the Fuel are proud to be teaming up with PNC Bank to help make a difference around Central Indiana. Each month, we'll take a closer look at what the Fuel organization has been up to away from the rink in our Community Spotlight.
The month began with the Fuel delivering free lunches provided by Chick Fil A Plainfield to elementary school teachers in Brownsburg. After announcing the Hat Trick For Humanity Initiative, the Fuel hosted their first event with Teachers' Treasures, a non-profit seeking product and financial contributions that could be used to provide teachers with the educational supplies and materials needed by the children in their classrooms.Â

Indy Fuel announced Hat Trick for Humanity, a new initiative with PNC Bank to highlight organizations around Indianapolis that support the community in unique ways.Â
In the first of three events, the Indy Fuel hosted a School Supply Drive for Teachers' Treasures, a non-profit seeking product and financial contributions that could be used to provide teachers with the educational supplies and materials needed by the children in their classrooms.Â
Head Coach Doug Christiansen, Nitro and Fuel staff were on hand to greet fans and give out free Fuel items to those who donated to Teachers' Treasures. Through the entire day’s donations, Teachers' Treasures served 139 teachers and distributed $105,698 worth of school supplies to about 85 schools throughout Marion County.
Although the Indy Fuel’s 2019-20 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we continue to look forward to when players and coaches are able to get back out into our communities and make a difference. Whether it is our mascot Nitro, players, coaches or our staff, getting out into the community and making us all one big hockey family is one of the largest priorities of the Indy Fuel organization.
