In the first of three games in three days, the Indy Fuel hosted I-69 rival Fort Wayne Komets on Friday night. Giving up two goals in the first period, Indy would rally to score two goals in the third period to force overtime. Matt Marcinew got loose on a breakaway to give Indy the 3-2 win in overtime on Friday night.Â

With each player scoring a goal in Friday night’s game Nic Pierog and Matt Marcinew enter Saturday night as the team’s points leaders. With 15 goals on the season, Nic Pierog comes into Saturday in the number one spot in the ECHL in goals. Scoring the overtime winner on Friday, Matt Marcinew is currently second in the league in game-winning goals.Â

Stopping 23 of 25 shots on Friday, Billy Christopoulos took the number one spot in the league in goals-against average from his partner Dan Bakala. Through 9 games in a Fuel uniform, Christopoulos has registered a 2.00 goals-against average while his partner Bakala has earned a 2.03 GAA. With both goaltenders sitting atop the league in goals-against average, the Fuel have not given up more than two goals in a game since February 19 against Greenville.Â
