LAST TIME OUT
In the first of two meetings between Indy and Wheeling this week, both teams would only score one goal in regulation, sending the game to a seven-minute overtime period for the fourth time this season. Scoring the game-winning goal with five minutes remaining in overtime, Antoine Waked buried a cross-ice pass from Michael McNicholas to give Indy a 2-1 win on Wednesday night.
DANGEROUS DUO
Signing Billy Christopoulos in early January, the Fuel have employed a dangerous duo of goaltenders with Dan Bakala and Christopoulos. Appearing in nine games this season, Dan Bakala leads the ECHL in wins with 8. The 33-year-old goaltender has put together a 2.47 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage through nine games this season. Splitting his time with Bakala, Christopoulos has earned 2.20 goals-against average and .925 save percentage through five games in a Fuel uniform.
SPECIAL TEAMS IMPORTANCE
In the previous matchup between Indy and Wheeling, the two teams combined for 61 penalty minutes. Going 0-for-5 on the power play, Indy enters Sunday night with the fourth best power play in the league scoring on 17.5 percent of their chances. Struggling to score on the power play on Wednesday, the Fuel found a silver lining by killing off 4-of-5 penalties, putting them in ninth in the ECHL in penalty kill percentage.
