Rapid City Visits the Fuel for Two-Game Series

In the first of two meetings between the two teams this weekend, the Fuel host the Rapid City Rush. Rapid City comes into Friday’s matchup having won three out of their last six games while Indy will be entering Friday looking to earn points in their third straight game.

LAST TIME OUT

In their second game in two days, the Fuel hosted the Rapid City Rush at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Friday, January 17. Indy finished the first period down by a goal before Jake Schultz scored back to back goals, tying the game 3-3 heading into the third. Rapid City would score a late goal in the third and pot an empty netter taking home a 5-3 win. 

MATT’S BACK

Returning from his tryout stint with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners, the Fuel’s leading scorer Matt Marcinew enters Friday’s game with five goals and seven assists in nine ECHL games. Before signing with Tucson, Marcinew had three goals in four assists in his previous two games. The fourth-year pro will be expecting to return to his scoring ways on Friday after missing six games.

BOUNCING BACK

Entering Friday’s game, the Fuel will be looking to bounce back after the Wheeling Nailers them their third loss of the season on Sunday night. Indy has earned three points in their last two games and has a chance to continue their point streak on Friday against Rapid City. The Fuel currently sit in first place in the Eastern conference as well as the league with a .833 win percentage.
