Indy Closes Three Game Series with Fort Wayne

After a difficult overtime loss on Saturday night, the Fuel will close out their three-game series with the Fort Wayne Komets on Sunday at 5pm. Indy has struggled to string together wins recently, losing three out of their last five games while the Komets will be looking for their third straight win.

LAST TIME OUT

In their second game of a three game series, the Fuel faced the Fort Wayne Komets on Saturday night. Indy would see goals from Willie Raskob and Nic Pierog in the second and third periods but would eventually fall to the Komets 3-2 in overtime when Marco Roy beat Tom Aubrun with a wrist shot. 

GOOD OLD SAINT NIC

Entering Sunday’s game against the Komets Nic Pierog has goals in three out of his last four games. The third-year pro is currently tied for second place in the ECHL in goals tallying 19 through 36 games in a Fuel uniform. Averaging .53 goals per game this season Pierog is currently on pace to break the Fuel franchise record for goals in a season. 

TOUGH SLEDDING

Playing their third game in three days against the Komets on Sunday night, the Fuel have dropped seven out of their last ten games. Falling in overtime on Saturday night, Indy is looking for their first win since March 20 against Kansas City. 

PELECH’S HELPERS

Coming into Sunday night, Michael Pelech is two assists away from third place on the ECHL all-time assists list. The veteran center has picked up four goals and six assists since joining the Fuel on February 26.
