LAST TIME OUT
In the first game of their southern road swing, the Indy Fuel visited the South Carolina Stingrays on November 15, 2019. Graham Knott got the scoring started in the first period with a penalty shot goal on Following a flood of goals from each team, the Stingrays’ Jordan Klimek would beat Indy goaltender Charles Williams to eventually take the 4-3 win over the Fuel.Â
RIGHTING THE SHIP
Entering Wednesday’s game against South Carolina, the Fuel have lost three straight home games in regulation, putting them on the longest losing streak during the 2020-21 season. The last time Indy lost three straight home games was in March of 2018. Playing an East Division opponent on Wednesday, earning points will be crucial for the Fuel. Â
MAKING MOVES
Looking to shake up the lineup, Head Coach Doug Christiansen added two young forwards to the Fuel roster in Tommy Apap and Brent Gates. Apap joins the Fuel after he finished his collegiate career at Michigan State University. The 6-foot-2 forward registered five goals and four assists in 25 games during his senior year.Â
Acquiring Gates on Monday in a trade with Tulsa, Christiansen brought in a young forward that has played consistent minutes in the American Hockey League. Through 31 games for the ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers this season, Gates has earned six goals and 12 assists.Â
