LAST TIME OUT

Playing the first half of a home and home series, the Indy Fuel visited the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday, April 14. Wheeling would take the lead in the first period thanks to a Patrick McNally goal before Indy’s Willie Raskob tied the game in the second. The Nailers would score two unanswered goals to eventually take the 3-1 win over Indy.

LONG TIME NO SEE

Wednesday’s game will be the first time Indy has seen Wheeling since April 14 when they lost 3-1 at WesBanco Arena. Playing their 16th out of 18 matchups this season, the Fuel have earned a 10-4-1-0 record when facing their Central Division rival.

EVEN STRENGTH SCORING

Entering Wednesday’s game, Indy has scored eight out of their last 12 goals at even strength. Five out of their eight even strength goals last weekend came in Indy’s 8-2 win against the Solar Bears on Sunday afternoon.

DIVISION MATCHUP

With Wednesday’s game being an East Division matchup, earning points is crucial. The Fuel sits one win ahead of the Orlando Solar Bears, who visit the Jacksonville Icemen on Wednesday night. A loss on Wednesday will put the Fuel in fourth place in the East Division behind the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Orlando Solar Bears.
