Fuel Takes on Rapid City in First of Four Contests

After shutting out the Fort Wayne Komets on Sunday night, the Indy Fuel travels to Rapid City for the first of four straight games on Wednesday night. The Fuel enters Wednesday’s game with points in three out of their last four games while Rapid City is looking for their first back-to-back wins since May 1.

LAST TIME OUT

In the second half of a back-to-back series with the Rapid City Rush, the Fuel would look to respond after being shut out on Friday, February 5. Seeing goals from Peter Krieger, Nic Pierog, Nick Hutchison, Michael McNicholas and Mat Thompson Indy would eventually take home a 6-3 win over the Rush on Saturday, February 6.

BRINGING IN REINFORCEMENTS

With the majority of the American Hockey League closing out their season over the weekend, the Fuel received three players from the Rockford IceHogs and Rochester Americans. Adding defensemen Dmitry Osipov, Cliff Watson and goaltender Billy Christopoulos to the lineup, the Fuel will have a drastically different look compared to the past handful of games.

MAKING A RUN

Entering week 24, Indy sits in third place in the East Division with a .586 win percentage. Picking up a win on Sunday held the Fuel three games ahead of the Orlando Solar Bears who dropped two out of their three games last week. Playing four straight games against a desperate West Division opponent this week, Indy needs to pick up wins to keep pace with their East Division opponents.
