LAST TIME OUT
In the second match of a best-of-five series between the Fuel and the Swamp Rabbits, Terry Broadhurst’s lone goal would not be enough to match Greenville as they take the game in a final 3-1 score.
GENERATING CHANCES
Entering Friday’s game, the Fuel has only scored one goal in the last two playoff games. Generating chances and putting pucks on the net is crucial to taking a game on the road. “we've got to do a better job of throwing pucks to the net and creating some bounces," said Head Coach Doug Christiansen. "I think we need to do a better job as a collective group of taking advantage when the opportunities are there."
BACKS AGAINST THE WALL
The Fuel will be playing for their playoff lives on Saturday night but they are no strangers to a desperate situation. During the final 10 games of the season, the Fuel were fighting for a spot in the playoffs and back to back wins in Rapid City sprung them to finish the season with a 4-1 record. "It's a very similar situation [to Rapid City]," said Christiansen. "On the Wednesday night game, we lost in overtime in Rapid City, on Friday night we lost the game in heartbreaking fashion. on Saturday night we came together, had a late-game win and it sprung us to not just a great game on Saturday but continued success down the stretch."
