Fuel Face Komets in Second Half of Back to Back Matchups

Coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Komets on Saturday night, the Fuel host their in-state rival for the third time this season. Indy is looking to get back on the winning track while Fort Wayne is expecting to put together back-to-back wins for the first time since November 20.

LAST TIME OUT

In the third and final game of their week, the Fuel hosted the Fort Wayne Komets for Marvel Super Hero Night. After both teams traded goals throughout, a late goal from the Komets would hand them a 3-2 win at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

OLD FRIENDS

Wednesday’s game will be the second half of back-to-back games against the Fort Wayne Komets. The Fuel have faced their I-69 rival twice this season and have put together one win and one loss. Entering Wednesday night, the Fuel holds a 3-3-0-0 record at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

ONE-GOAL GAMES

Two out of Indy’s three games last week finished as one-goal contests. “It’s teaching us how we have to get to where we need to go,” said Doug Christiansen. “Whether it’s discipline or puck decisions, we’re learning that this adversity is putting us to our fighting weight.”

DEFENSIVE HELP

Entering Week 7 of the ECHL season, the Fuel are led in points by Chad Yetman and Mike Lee. Having been quiet recently, Yetman is looking to tally his first point since November 19th at Wheeling. However, Mike Lee has two goals and three assists in his last five games. The second-year defenseman currently leads the Indy Fuel in assists with 10.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Following Indy’s home game on Wednesday night, the Fuel will begin a four-game road swing on Saturday night. Having played eight games on the road this season, the Fuel have put together a 1-5-1-1 record.
