In their first game after the holiday break, the Fuel travel to Fort Wayne for their first game of the season at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Indy is looking to earn three wins in their last four games while the Komets are coming off of back-to-back losses to Cincinnati last weekend.

In the second half of back-to-back matchups, the Fuel hosted the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday, December 1. Holding on to a two-goal lead for the majority of the game, the Fuel would eventually take the 4-1 win over their in-state rivals thanks to goals from Spencer Watson, Chad Yetman and Cedric Lacroix.

Scoring nine goals in last Saturday’s win over Kalamazoo, the Indy Fuel broke a franchise record for goals in a game. Prior to Saturday night, the most goals Indy had scored was in an 8-2 win over the Orlando Solar Bears on April 25, 2021. Tallying seven goals on Friday, nine on Saturday and six on Sunday, the Fuel put themselves in 6th in the ECHL in goals per game.

Sitting in 6th in the Central Division, the Fuel are currently 9 points out of the final playoff spot with 49 games remaining in the season. Having won two out of their last three games, Indy will face a Komets opponent that they have earned a 2-1-0-0 record against.

With five points in his last three games, Jared Thomas has extended his point streak to 12 games. Earning one goal and four assists in his last three games, Thomas has picked up four goals and 12 assists in his last 12 contests. The fourth-year pro has skated in 19 games for the Fuel this season registering four goals and 13 assists.

Entering Sunday night, the Fuel have seen 12 different players score their last 17 goals. New additions Karl El-Mir, Darien Craighead and Jan Mandat have combined for four goals and six assists in their last two games.
