LAST TIME OUT

In the first half of a home and home series, the Indy Fuel hosted the Wheeling Nailers on Friday night. Indy would jump out to a 1-0 lead in the first period and would score four more goals en route to a 5-1 win over the Nailers.

GRIND LINE

Griff Jeszka, Andrew Bellant, Keegan Iverson and CJ Eick combined for two goals and two assists in Friday’s win over Wheeling. The line could have had another goal on Friday thanks to CJ Eick but the goal was disallowed due to goaltender interference. “They weren’t complicated, they just worked. They were effective because they had good pace and competed,” said Head Coach Doug Christiansen following Friday night.

EXCELLENT EICK

Tallying a goal on Friday, CJ Eick is riding a four-game point streak heading into Saturday night. Through his last four games, Eick has two goals and two assists. Skating in 26 games for the Fuel this season, Eick has picked up five goals and five assists.

GREAT GILLY

Starting on Friday night, Mitch Gillam stopped 25 of 26 shots he faced from the Nailers. Gillam has started three out of the last four games for the Fuel and has only allowed three goals on 82 shots. Gillam’s game has also allowed the Fuel to earn points in three out of their last four games. Through 10 games this season, Gillam has registered a 3.28 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage.

JAN’S NUMBERS

Picking up two goals in Indy’s 5-1 win on Friday, Jan Mandat has four points in his last two games. Since joining the Fuel in early December, Mandat has tallied five goals and eight assists. Playing alongside Darien Craighead and Seamus Malone, the trio combined for two goals and two assists on Friday night.
