INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs announced Friday that defenseman Keoni Texeira has been signed to a pro-tryout agreement with the American Hockey League’s San Jose Barracuda.
Texeira, 24, has skated in 33 games with the Fuel this season tallying three goals, 14 assists and 10 penalty minutes. Serving as the Fuel’s captain, Texeira is in the middle of this third season with the Fuel and fourth-year pro. The native of Rancho Cucamonga, California has appeared in 213 ECHL games, earning 20 goals, 94 assists and 159 penalty minutes.
Texeira joins the Barracuda ahead of a home-and-home series with the Bakersfield Condors beginning on Saturday night at Bakersfield.
