LAST TIME OUT

The two teams have not met one another since March 15 and 16, 2019 when the Fuel and the Royals split a two-game series in Reading.

THEY STARTED IT

Entering Friday’s contest, the Fuel are 17-7-2-1 when scoring the first goal of the game. Both Indy and Reading have a winning record when taking a lead into the intermission. When leading after the first 20 minutes, the Fuel are 11-3-0-1 while the Royals are 12-4-3-0 when leading after the first stanza.

KRAZY KAPPY

Coming into Friday night, Justin Kapelmaster has only allowed two regulation goals in his last three games. Since joining the Fuel in early February, Kapelmaster has earned a .948 save percentage and a 1.41 goals-against average. Over his last three starts, Kapelmaster has stopped 82 of 84 shots and helped the Fuel to a three-game point streak.

NEW FACES

Since February 1st, the Fuel have added four new players to their lineup, looking to get back into the playoff picture. Playing in his 5th game in a Fuel uniform on Thursday, Joe Widmar picked up his first goal for his new team. Assisting on Widmar’s goal, Bryan Lemos also tallied his first point in a Fuel uniform on Thursday. With several new additions to the Fuel lineup, Fuel coach Doug Christiansen hopes they can improve his team and lead the charge to get into the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
