Earning their second straight win on Wednesday night, the Indy Fuel head to Kalamazoo to face the Wings in the first of two games this weekend. The Wings are coming off of a 4-1 loss to the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday while Indy is looking to earn their third straight win after losing six in a row.Â

After defeating the Kalamazoo Wings at home on Saturday, January 22, the Indy Fuel went to Kalamazoo and won the second game of the back-to-back series 4-3. Indy’s Jordan Schneider scored the game-winning goal with just 0:36 left on the clock after the Fuel trailed 3-2 for most of the third period.
GREAT GILLY
After replacing Michael Lackey in Wednesday’s contest against the Fort Wayne Komets, Mitch Gillam stopped 37 of 38 shots faced. The sixth-year pro has appeared in 20 games for the Fuel this season, registering a 3.07 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage. Earning two shutouts this season, Gillam has helped the Fuel tie the franchise record for shutouts with five this year.Â
MONSTER MALONE
Tallying one of Indy’s two goals on Wednesday night, Seamus Malone has a goal and two assists in his last two games. After going pointless in three games, Malone has helped the Fuel turn their six-game losing streak into back-to-back wins.Â
WATTY KEEPS GOING
With a goal in Wednesday’s win, Spencer Watson continued his track to top of the Fuel’s all-time points standings. After taking second place on the team’s all-time goals list, Watson is now one point away from tying Matt Rupert for second place on the team’s all-time points list. Skating in 140 games for the Fuel, Watson has tallied 120 points, putting him one point away from 2nd and 33 points from first place.Â
SUPER SCORING CHANCES
Appearing in 23 games for the Fuel since arriving in December, Jan Mandat leads the team in scoring chances per game. Registering 1.09 scoring chances per game, Mandat has tallied 11 goals and 12 assists, putting him on a point per game pace. Behind Mandat, Spencer Watson and Seamus Malone are each averaging 1.02 scoring chances per game.Â
