Coming off a 6-3 loss to the Toledo Walleye on Wednesday night, the Indy Fuel travel to Wheeling for a Friday night contest. The Nailers enter Friday’s game having won two out of their last three games while the Fuel is looking to snap a five-game losing skid.

In the second half of a home and home series against the Wheeling Nailers, the Fuel completed the series sweep when five different players scored to earn a 5-2 win Saturday night. The pair of wins helped propel the Fuel to eight out of 10 wins to start the new year.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Friday’s contest will be the Fuel’s 22nd road game of the season. The team hasn’t fared well when playing away from Indiana Farmers Coliseum this season, registering a 5-13-2-1 record. When facing the Wheeling Nailers this season, the Fuel have earned a 3-2-1-0 record. Playing four games at WesBanco arena this season, Indy has tallied a record of 1-2-1-0.
BREAK THE SKID
Entering Friday night, the Fuel have lost five straight games after winning eight out of 10 to start the new year. Having dropped five straight games in regulation, the Fuel are currently on their longest pointless streak of the season. Through their last five games, the Fuel have been outscored 24-9 by their opponents.

Picking up two goals on Wednesday night, Jared Thomas cemented himself into first place on the Fuel’s points list. Skating in 37 games for the Fuel this season, Thomas has tallied 11 goals and 26 assists. Thomas’ 26 helpers ties him for third place in the ECHL in that category and ties him with Mike Lee for first on Fuel’s assist list.
