The Indy Fuel visited the Kalamazoo Wings Friday, March 11th for their first game in six days. Despite outshooting the Wings 32-19 through 60 minutes, they ultimately fell 2-0 thanks to goals from Kalamazoo’s Justin Murray and Justin Taylor.
Scoring two goals on Saturday night, Seamus Malone enters Sunday having tallied four goals in his last four games. The Naperville, Illinois native has tallied at least a point in seven out of his last 10 games (5g, 6a).
Tallying Indy’s second goal on Saturday night, Spencer Watson has five goals in his last six contests. Entering his 158th game in a Fuel uniform, Watson is seven goals away from breaking the Fuel franchise record for all-time goals. Scoring at a rapid pace this season, Watson is also on pace to break his own Fuel franchise record for goals in a season (31).
Sunday’s game will be Indy’s 11th meeting with the Kalamazoo Wings. Putting together a 4-6-0-0 record against their Central Division rival, the Fuel have struggled when being a man down, allowing the Wings to score on 17-of-38 power plays (44.7%) while the Fuel have scored on 26.6% of their man advantages.
