LAST TIME OUTThe Fuel ended the 2021-22 season with back-to-back wins vs the Cyclones. Indy took a 5-4 shootout victory on April 15 at Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati before going on to close out their 2021-22 season with a 4-2 win at home on April 16.
NEW BEGINNINGSDuncan Dalmao begins his first full season as the Indy Fuel’s head coach. Dalmao took over as Interim Head Coach on March 14, 2022 and went on to lead the team to an 11-6 record to close out the season. He’s joined by new Assistant Coach Kevin Moore who was most recently the Director of Hockey Operations for the Princeton University Tigers.
FAMILIAR FACESOut of the 25 guys on the current roster, 13 are returning members of the Indy Fuel. Jan Mandat, Chase Lang, Spencer Watson, Bryan Lemos, Chris Van Os-Shaw, Chad Yetman, Andrew Bellant, Kirill Chaika, Tanner Butler, Cam Bakker, Christopher Cameron and Keoni Texeira all skated for the Fuel in 2021-22. In addition, forward (and fan-favorite) Alex Wideman returns to Indy’s roster for the 2022-23 season. Wideman was last with the Fuel in 2017-18.
READY FROM ROCKFORDThe Rockford IceHogs have loaned seven players to the Indy Fuel ahead of tonight’s preseason matchup. Indy will see the return of forwards Seamus Malone, Riley McKay and Kale Howarth with the addition of new faces that include forward Jakub Pour (on an NHL contract), defenseman Andrew Perrot and goaltenders Mitchell Weeks and Dylan Wells.
There will be no home broadcast tonight, so fans that can’t attend the game can listen to the game by tuning into Cincinnati’s radio stream HERE.
