MATCHUP: Indy Fuel @ Kalamazoo Wings
KALAMAZOO- The Fuel are in Kalamazoo this afternoon attempting to win one game of this weekend road trip after falling to Cincinnati twice. Kalamazoo is coming off of a 3-1 win last night over the Toledo Walleye and are looking to get their first win against Indy this season.
LAST TIME OUT
These two teams met last Saturday in Indianapolis as the Fuel claimed a 5-1 victory over the Wings in their second meeting of the season. The Wings only goal was scored on the power play by Carson Focht while the Fuel had five separate goal scorers in Cameron, Lemos, Pour, Wideman and Mandat.
BELLANT IS BACK
After thirteen games with the Fuel last season and playing two preseason games this year with Indy, Andrew Bellant has returned to the lineup and had an explosive first game last night against the Cyclones. With fresh legs, expect Bellant to bring physicality, great defense and help on breakouts in today’s matchup.
TOUGH SCHEDULE
This weekend brings the team’s first 3-in-3 of the year with a quick turnaround from Cincinnati last night to Kalamazoo for a daytime game today. With three quick games on the road, facing some of the division’s toughest competitors and the Fuel’s next game falling on a Thursday just four days from now, there’s no way around it, the Fuel simply face a tough schedule this week and will look to salvage some points today and keep themselves in the tight race for first place.
