MATCHUP: Indy Fuel @ Cincinnati Cyclones
INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will take on the Cincinnati Cyclones again tonight after battling with them to overtime last night and collecting just one point in the 4-3 loss. The Cyclones are still leading the Central division with 13 points while the Fuel trail them with 11 points in second place.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cyclones got ahead first last night leaving the Fuel trailing after the first and second period for the first time all season. Indy was able to tie the game up with the help of two power play goals, one by the Fuel newcomer Cam Hillis. Ultimately, the Cyclones scored in overtime getting the 4-3 victory.
POWER PLAY SUCCESS
With the two late power play goals last night, the Fuel are now ranked second in the ECHL on the power play with a success rate of over 30%. Special teams have been a key factor for this team that have also already tallied three shorthanded goals on the season as well. The Fuel will hope to focus their third period momentum from last night into tonight and hopefully give the Cyclones their first regulation loss of the season with domination on the power play.
HAPPY HILLIS
In his first game with the Fuel after being assigned by Rockford, Cam Hillis scored an important goal in the third period with the help of Alex Wideman and Chad Yetman who he has slotted in with on the power play. Hillis also took the Fuel’s first penalty of the game, an interference call in the first period, that the Fuel ultimately killed off successfully.
