ABOUT THE HOCKEY:

INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel host the Cincinnati Cyclones tonight as they hope to get their first win of the season against the team who trails them by five points in the standings. Indy will look for an early goal to let the teddy bears fly to the ice for the annual Teddy Bear Toss night.

LAST TIME OUT

The last time these two teams met was on November 12 when the Fuel visited Cincinnati for a two-game set where they were only able to come away with one point on the weekend in an overtime loss. Since then, the Fuel have passed Cincinnati in the standings and became sole owners of first place in the division.

MAKING HISTORY

Coming off of a two-point night last night against Wheeling, Spencer Watson is now the sole leader in Fuel franchise points with 154. With back-to-back assists less than three minutes apart, Watson tied and broke the all-time points record of 153 previously held by Joshua Shalla. In addition to that, he is on the doorstep of tying the Fuel’s franchise goals record as well, currently held by Shalla at 80.

HAPPY HILLIS

Cam Hillis scored a goal in last night’s game vs. Wheeling, putting him on a four-game goal-scoring streak, breaking the 2022-23 season’s record of three games by Jan Mandat. Through those four games, Hillis has scored the Fuel’s only goal in a game, the game-winning goal and a shorthanded goal. With 17 points in 21 games, he has proven to be imperative to this team’s success.
