ABOUT THE HOCKEY:
INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel are hosting the Cincinnati Cyclones for their eighth meeting of the year against their division rivals. Wearing specialty Game night jerseys, Indy will look for a checkmate over the Cyclones to remain in contention for first place.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was on Friday, February 3 where the Cyclones defeated the Fuel 3-0 for Indy’s first time being shut out of the season. Matej Pekar tallied a hat trick in that game and was the team’s lone goal scorer.
Since returning from injury, forward Chase Lang has showed up in the Fuel’s stat sheet a lot. With a game-winning goal against Iowa on Wednesday, he made a statement with his return. Aside from that, he has collected 18 penalty minutes through four games.
The top three spots in the Central division have shuffled around this last week with all three teams facing each other and having packed schedules. Headed into Saturday night, Cincinnati currently leads the pack with 70 points, followed by Toledo with 68 and the Fuel with 66.
