ABOUT THE HOCKEY:

INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will host the Kansas City Mavericks for the second time this season on Saturday night. Indy hopes to bounce back after losing three of their last four games for the first time this season with a win over a team they previously shut out.

LAST TIME OUT

The last time these two teams met was on Wednesday, December 28 where the Fuel shut out the Mavericks 2-0 with goals by Chad Yetman and Bryan Lemos. The Fuel will play the Mavericks tonight and tomorrow, hoping to complete the season sweep of the out-of-state rivals.

PENALTY KILLERS

Indy is currently ranked first in the league in home penalty killing success. They have a home kill rate of 87.1% which is a whopping 1.4% higher than the next best team which is Idaho who leads the league in wins and points overall. Headed into this game, the Fuel have killed off 42 consecutive penalties at home.

HE’S BACK

Returning to the lineup for the Fuel at home for the first time since last season is forward Jared Thomas who signed with the team earlier this week. Thomas’ rights had been moved around the league until he finally landed back in Indy. Last season Thomas was second overall on the team in points with 56.
