INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel play a rare Wednesday matchup against the Iowa Heartlanders tonight as they attempt to go 6-1 against them on the season and extend their Central division lead.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was on January 11 when the Fuel hosted the Heartlanders for a Wednesday night game too. Indy beat Iowa 3-1 in that game, extending their record against the Heartlanders to 5-1 this season. Carson Rose scored the game winner in that matchup while Luc Brown and Cam Hillis also got on the board.
Iowa currently sits in last place in the Central division with a 9-23-9-1 record and 28 points. They did complete the weekend sweep against the Wheeling Nailers last week, scoring a season high of seven goals in a game against them on Saturday. They have beaten the Fuel one time this season on January 7 in the middle of a three game set against them.
Defenseman Andrew Perrott has had success against the Heartlanders this season, posting back-to-back multi-point games against them last month when the Fuel visited Iowa for a three game series. Perrott is one of just two Fuel players who have played in all 45 games so far this season and will look to bring that power and scoring consistency into this game with Iowa.
