INDIANAPOLIS- The Indy Fuel head to Iowa for the final time this season to take on the Heartlanders in their tenth meeting of the season. After this, the Fuel will host them just one more time before the completion of the regular season.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these teams met was on February 22 when the Fuel defeated the Heartlanders 4-3 in regulation. Luc Brown had a goal and an assist in that game while goaltender Zach Driscoll made 19 saves. It was a very physical game with both teams combining for a total of 43 penalty minutes.
HEARTLANDERS’ STANDINGS
The Iowa Heartlanders are coming off of a 7-0 loss to the second place Cincinnati Cyclones on Wednesday night. This makes six straight losses for the Heartlanders who are in last place in the Central division and are just 11 points from being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs whereas the Fuel are 12 points from clinching a spot in the playoffs.
A MILLI VINNELL(I)
On Tuesday, the Fuel added defenseman Zach Vinnell to the lineup. Vinnell just finished his senior college season at Bowling Green State University where he scored 20 points in 36 games, marking his highest scoring season in college. Vinnell can hopefully add offensive depth to the Fuel’s lineup in their attempt to make a playoff push this March.
