FISHERS- The Fuel will open the 2026-27 season at home at the Fishers Event Center on October 16, 2026, when they will host the Wheeling Nailers. The following night, they will host the Cincinnati Cyclones. With an off day on Sunday, Indy will look to start with some winning momentum on home ice for their thirteenth season.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16
On Friday, Indy will play host to the Wheeling Nailers, who are back in the Central division for the first time in two seasons after some division restructuring. The Nailers ended last year with a 46-20-3-3 record, clinching the top spot in the North division and earning a playoff berth. In the playoffs, they went 9-6-2-0, ultimately falling to the eventual Kelly Cup champions, the Florida Everblades in the Eastern Conference Finals, four games to one.
The last time Wheeling played Indy was the final game of the regular season on April 18, 2026, which was a make-up game from last December that year. The Fuel claimed a 4-3 victory over the Nailers, with Chase Dafoe scoring the game-winner. Indy outshot Wheeling, 48-23 in that match.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17
On Saturday, the Cyclones will roll into town to take on Indy. After a Central division playoff race that went until the final day of the season last year, Cincinnati was a contender to clinch but ultimately fell to sixth place in the Central with 75 points and a 35-32-4-1 record. Kalamazoo ended ahead of them with three more points, while Indy claimed the fourth and final playoff spot with 79 points.
The last time the Fuel faced off with Cincinnati was on February 15, 2026, when Indy traveled to Cincy to take a 3-1 victory over them for their twenty-second win of the season. Returner Jesse Tucker claimed the game-winning goal as Indy held them to just 16 shots on goal in the game.
