INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel announced today that they have signed defenseman Ross MacDougall.
The 6'0, 187-pound defenseman will join the Fuel out of University of New Brunswick where he played 30 games this season and scored 28 points, posting a +/- of +21. He helped the University of New Brunswick Reds to a USports University Cup Championship and he was named to the USports Uviversity Cup All-Star Team.
During the 2021-22 season, he also played 23 games for the University of New Brunswick where he scored eight points and claimed a USports Championship.
Prior to that, the St. Stephen, New Brunswick native attended Acadia University for three years where he played for two seasons, scoring 22 points in 56 games. Before his collegiate career, MacDougall played in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) four four years between the Québec Remparts and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
Additionally, the Fuel announced today that defenseman Koletrane Wilson and forward Colin Bilek have been recalled by the Rockford IceHogs, the Fuel’s AHL affiliate.
This is Wilson’s third callup after an injury sidelined him for over thirty games this season. Wilson scored his first ECHL goal on Saturday and followed it up with an assist on Sunday.
Bilek joined the Fuel after 45 games with the Trois-Rivieres Lions of the ECHL, where he recorded 14 goals and nine assists. Prior to that, he was captain of the West Point Black Knights for his final two of four seasons. He led the team in scoring both of those years. In his collegiate career he recorded 43 goals and 50 assists. This is his second call-up this season.
