ABOUT THE HOCKEY:
INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel host the Kalamazoo Wings for the first game of a two-game set against them this weekend. This will be their twelfth meeting with their divisional opponent who is currently in sixth place in the Central division with 52 points.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was on Indy’s Education Day where the teams battled with a 10:30 a.m. puck drop in front of the Fuel’s largest crowd in franchise history. In a close game, Indy’s Bryan Lemos scored to break a 1-1 tie late in the third period to win 2-1, the same score as 2022’s Education Day game, also against the K-Wings.
Prior to tonight’s game, the Rockford IceHogs, the Fuel’s AHL affiliate, assigned four players to the Fuel after their Canada road trip. Colin Bilek, Koletrane Wilson, Maxim Golod and Kyle Maksimovich will all help fill out the Fuel’s roster that has been affected by injuries and call-ups recently. The first three all have experience with the Fuel this season and have had a hand in some major game-winning plays for Indy.
COUNTING ON KYLE
Kyle Maksimovich joins his former Erie Otters teammates Chad Yetman and Maxim Golod on the Fuel. He played the last four seasons at the University of Prince Edward Island where he tallied 37 goals and 50 assists through 78 games. Prior to that, he played for the Ottawa 67’s for one season and the Erie Otters for five seasons. During the 2017-18 season, he played four games for the Rockford IceHogs before returning to the Otters.
