ABOUT THE HOCKEY:
INDIANAPOLIS- Tonight, the Fuel take on the Iowa Heartlanders. This will be Indy’s last game against Iowa. Headed into this game, the Fuel are 7-3 against the Heartlanders on the season.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was Friday, March 10 when the Fuel visited the Heartlanders and fell 5-2 after three unanswered goals by Iowa in the third period. Bryan Lemos and Colin Bilek were the lone goal scorers for Indy in that matchup with Lemos finding the net just 11 minutes into the first period for the first goal of the game.
HOPEFUL HEARTLANDERS
The last place Iowa Heartlanders headed into this weekend on a three game win streak over big division rivals. Starting with a 3-1 win over Toledo then a 4-1 win over Kalamazoo, the Heartlanders narrowly defeated the Fort Wayne Komets on April 2, 5-4. This is the first time all season Iowa has won three straight games in regulation and just the second time they’ve won three straight all season. They did fall to the Wheeling Nailers 6-2 last night, breaking that streak.
BUSY BILEK
Colin Bilek has two goals and an assist through the Fuel’s last two games. He has also recorded 19 shots through the last five games. He has been heating up since returning to the Fuel’s lineup after two call ups to Rockford.
